Angry Car Cover Envy...

I don't know about you guys but I want a car cover. Not one of those garbage bag type covers but a sexy form fitting one for my RDXturbo. Like most of you fellow Ziners I too wash/detail/slave/self therapute my auto myself and it takes a lot of time and effort (it is worth every second) But i just wish Acura would come out with a cover so after i take two hours washing my baby it doesn't all go to waste 5 hours later when it rains... Just my How does the Zine feel about this matter?

I'm surprised Acura doesn't make a cover for the RDX. I'm sure they will eventually.

But just so you know, the Acura car covers are not water proof. Water goes right through it. Designed to let the car breathe and not trap water anywhere.

Got mine, get yours

I got mine last week from DCH Honda of Oxnard, CA. They had them for Hondas and I sent them an email to see if they could order one for the RDX. Yes! I received a reply from Barry Garrison, Parts/Accessories manager, parts@hondaofoxnard.com, with the good news.

After calling him at his request to provide the credit car info on Tuesday 7/17, I had the cover on Friday, 7/20. The cost was $189 plus 13.70 sales tax, total of 202.70 delivered to my door.

This is a custom fit, Intro Tech brand cover and is light weight, easy to handle.

I had one of these covers for a gen 1 MDX and really liked it compared to the Evolution 4 type covers that I had been using for years. This cover comes with a limited lifetime warranty. For the E4 covers they had a 4 year warranty and I always had them replaced under warranty at 3 years as they start to deteriorate.

The RDX lives outside as my 66 Mustang and the wife’s MDX get the garage.

BobQ thanks for the info I will be emailing Barry Garrison today, I know Sasair said that the Acura car covers weren't water proof, but by any chance is this one resistant to the element we call H2O?

The cover is water resistant and works well if there is some dew present. If it is raining, it is best to take it off.

And why would it be best to take it off during rain...?

I take it off because if I want to go drive the RDX, I do not have to deal with a wet cover, possibly rip it taking it off and also find a place to put it.

The reason I use a cover is to keep the car clean and to keep the exterior and interior from deteriorating from the sun.

Why would you want to keep it covered if it is raining?

I just figured it would be good to keep the auto dry while precipitating, so you dont get water spots and such, thanks for your help i already called and ordered mine I glad to see the Zine working for its people...
