Brake Threads?
Looks like I'll start to answer my own question. The following thread seems to have some really good references.

Here's another good brake job thread with great pictures: https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/replacing-brakes-pictures-3g-garage-d-041-a-770166/
I am also wondering if the pad shims which came with the original pads need to be used with newer/better pads? My brakes seem to be operating fine without the shims and the new pads came with metal surfaces for the new pads. I also used some silicon grease to lube the metal surfaces instead of brake grease.
Another really good brake thread on painting the calipers: https://acurazine.com/forums/1g-rdx-diy-faq-161/diy-brake-caliper-painting-776569/
Emergency brake adjustment thread: https://acurazine.com/forums/1g-rdx-diy-faq-161/adjust-emergency-brake-830192/ Also, the preceeding post has good pictures of the emergency brake/parking brake on the rear wheels.

I know this is an Acura site but for those who have a Honda product like I do as well as an Acura, here is a really good video by Eric The Car Guy on doing the rear brakes on Honda's with the built-in emergency brake attached to the brake piston assembly:
This is a very well done video with lots of good explanations of how to handle the brake pistons with the slots in them, i.e. Honda rear brakes. Thanks Eric The Car Guy!

Note on previous post! When retracting the brake piston on the Honda rear brakes, you may have to do what The Car Guy did in that video to get the piston to retract by rotating it clockwise with an appropriate tool while crimping (carefully) the brake fluid supply line and then opening the brake bleeder valve to allow the brake fluid to drain into a container while the piston is retracting. The Car Guy had this problem in the video and explains that it is done to avoid possible damage to the ABS! He had to remove the bleeder valve and clean it out before it would work correctly. I have seen some posts that mention that their brake piston retracting tools did not work and this is probably why they didn't work as expected.
