2008 RDX tech COMING SOON!

well i did it.. AGAIN!

My 06' TSX is being traded back for a 2008 RDX TECH / polished metal metallic.

A quick question though.. is it true that the basic maintenance such as oil changes are alot more expensive than the TSX? does the RDX run synthetic?

Guess I gotta update my SIG once again!

depending on the dealer, cost can vary greatly. a regular oil change is not expensive, at least it shouldnt be (40-60 bucks) and it does run synthetic. Its the upper mileage maintance that has a bad rep, this number seems to be under 200 bucks. look on the bright side, at least its not MB numbers.

I'll never buy another Acura if that's what it costs. I've only just had my first oil change and balancing which is free. I'm dreading the next one when I have to pay. Maybe I should've bought that Land Rover LR2. All scheduled maintenance is free for the duration of the 4 year - 50,000 mile basic warranty. Four $255 maintenance charges a year is more than a thousand bucks. That's $4,000 grand over four years. That's ridiculous.

Damn. I wish I weren't in love with acceleration and speed...

Holy crap. I think you got ripped. I just had my second A1 service (3rd service appointment since purchase in Aug '06). It was under $100 bucks - which I still think is high.

Learn to do it your self then, thats the beauty of honda/acura vehicles, they are quite damn easy to do most of the maintenance items your self.

You should complain, you got seriously ripped off. I just had a B1 service which includes oil and filter change, and tire rotation for $117.

ok.. picked up my polished metal metallic today...and here are a few quick observations coming from owning 2 TSX', 1 CSX, 1 RSX :

1. stereo (tech package) amazing.. been a long time since i had to get used to low bass rumbling! absolutely superior to the TSX stereo.

2. mileage: still not sure.. been driving it very 'low key' as it is before the 1000km break-in period. upon pickup, she had a full tank of gas and so far i've done about 165 km as I 'toured' and showed everyone the car.. remaining KM display says 340km. so i think i will be able to get approx 475 to 500km out of the initial tank. Not bad considering it is still below the break-in period and the TSX got about 500-550km from it's tank. Driving today consisted of about 70% city and 30% highway.

3. suspension: this is an 08 rdx-t. and well i am finding that the tsx suspension was a bit smoother.. i would almost compare the rdx suspension to my csx. something i'll have to get used to and/or just gotta drive around more and get a feel of it.

4. turbo: not really much of a lag but wow, when it kicks in.. u almost feel like you're strapped into a rocket ship. (slight exaggeration).

5. Navigation: dial vs touch... haven't really tried out the navi yet but entered some info and the dial seems easier to use than the touch screen setup.

6. bluetooth/HFL: paired my motorola krzr with absolutely no problems..works fine.

7. xm radio: trying out the preview but wow, sounds like crap.. almost like MONO FM or something. i'll keep fiddling with it.

8. DVD-A audio? haven't tried it yet but gonna follow the instructions in the link and create one: http://home.comcast.net/~adobeman/DVDA/

anyways, i'll add more later... but so far so good... 1st option i want to add are the running boards.

I don't have the RDX yet, but have my oil changed in my TSX at the dealer (I use Mobil 1 in EVERYTHING). I bring my own oil, and filter, and they charge me........$9.98, plus they wash it!!!(very carefully I might add). Gotta love a great dealership. Thats one more reason I want to get the RDX, I want to deal with great people.

Congratulations! I am from Vancouver myself and I am looking to buy. I'm just waiting for the next few months to see if the Acura lowers the price of the RDX. $45,000+ for a Tech no tax yet is kinda pricey....

Enjoy your ride!!!

I've recently brought my 08 RDX for window tinting and having the interior and exterior simonizing from the Car Dealership that sold me the RDX. When I picked up my car the service dept. had closed and I didn't really get a chance to talk to anyone about the work that was done to it. The following day to my surprise I noticed on the upper left of my windshield there was a sticker telling me that the oil was changed. I was very happy to see it and I'll be calling the service Manager to see if this done automatically when you bring the car in.

Thread is dead. OP has WDP TL-S (see his avatar).

I don't think dealer would change your oil for free (unless you have free oil changes for life as I do). Check your service bill.
