'09 will offer a diesel?
From what I have reading, the dealers can't get rid of the '08s fast enough in anticipation of the '09s next month. However, as posted in another thread, there doesn't seem to be many changes revealed so far except for the power passenger seat. There has to be more going on that we are not aware of. Could it be the diesel option that has been rumored? If so, I doubt it will fly since I just noticed diesel selling around here for $4.58. Ouch!!! Even with the benefits of slightly increased mileage and a major torque increase, I do not see many Acura buyers opting for an oil burner. Just my 2 cents.
I disagree. Do the math - 30-50% increase in economy for 15-20% increase in $/gal.
Now, this also may indicate that people are not doing the math. After all, people are buying hybrids and trading cars for an increase of 5 mpg. Clearly, these folks are not doing the math.

Ummm... if you trade it for a Prius, you get more than 5 mpg increase. In the city, you can easily top 40 mpg with the Prius... compared with 20 mpg on the RDX.
If a hybrid version of the RDX does come out, it will probably hit around 30 mpg mix city/hwy driving.

A diesel RDX would be worth it if diesel was lower than gasoline as it used to be in the "good old days" of the oil embargoes. With a 50+ cent a gallon premium an RDX diesel would be a novelty for us rich folks.

In a few years the first gen hybrids will be scrapped; at half of a gas only car's service life. They are more wasteful and environmentally harmful than a Suburban. Let's see if the hybrid folks are embarrassed about that.

I know folks who went Green to feel good and then quietly traded their Prius and Civic hybrids - because they simply didn't deliver on the promises in real-world driving. Guess the shiny Green wore off. Face it, the best solution, like we even need one, for the environment is the advanced development of the gasoline engine. I have a shirt that says 'Screw the Caribou - Drill Alaska'. I wear it proudly.
