well my dayum pass window motor is fried

Well I was rolling up my pass window it got all the way to the top and i hear snap. My budd says regulator went and broke or something. So guess im gonna have to get a new one good times. Im gonna have to search to find what all fits. Blah sorry for the rant guys, I see accord coupe ones will work but will loose auto up / down but the passenger one doesnt do that so it would be good right. Sorry for asking before i search more. It's just they are callin for a butt load of rain and i need to get this fixed, also all the ones i see on ebay say 2.2 does it matter

The Accord one will work. There's also a CL at Pull-A-Part on North Tryon, as well as several Accords. You could probably pick up a regulator for pretty cheap.

This happened to me, I took the whole track out and the motor and propped the window up with a 2x4 till I could find one on ebay. Its a pretty easy fix the hardest part is popping the inside door panel off without breaking all the little plastic clasps. After that just swap out the track and motor. The snap you heard was probably the cable snapping and if you keep holding the button it will wind into the motor and destroy it. E-bay is the way.

i bought one from ebay, this one
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1997-...Q5fAccessories
well mine was for the driver's side
when i got it, i realized it said it was for an accord on the package.
but it works, even the auto-down feature...kinda slow tho, and noisy
btw i used a piece of hockey stick to prop up the window while the motor and the panel were off , only fell down a few times, but it worked good

My reg problem was the cheap plastic they used that the cable slides over eventualy snaped off in pieces. The cable was fine. My passenger reg went out a few months ago AGAIN and need one. Make sure you LUBE it before you install it or get ready to start looking for another one in a few months...

Haha a hockey stick...I had my 2x4 holding up the window for a few months without the inside panel on...couldn't find one on ebay. Pretty ghetto I told passengers it was like that because it made my car go faster.

^what are you supposed to lube exactly, and with what?

yeah i had my door panel off for like 4 months with the hockey stick holding up the window, looked really ghetto but worked
but screwing it in is a good idea, i just cut mine to fit perfectly

^Lube everywhere along the cable with silicon lube or any other cable lube. Just anything you can lube really.

I just had my driver's side reg. go out a couple weeks ago. I picked up one off a 94 accord 2 door at the salvage yard and put it in and got it working again. Sucks when it happens though hope you get yours figured out man.

The auto-down is actually controlled by the switch not the motor, so you might be able to somehow fit a driver's side auto-down switch on the passenger switch too, don't know for sure.

auto down feature on mine did not work when I replaced the regulator the first time, but when I got an OEM, it worked fine. Other members that have bought rebuilds have had theirs not work either

before you install it, it might be a good idea to put some white lithium grease on all of the metal to metal contact surfaces. I just bought/installed an aftermarket one and loaded it up with grease b/c it came with an extremely light coating
