Slow windows. Long Post.

Hello everyone, this is my first post, glad to be a part of your forums.

Yesterday, I purchased a 97 Acura 3.0CL. It is Titanium Grey (looks like silver) and was the right price (cheap) and in the right condition (slightly in need of repair).

Anyways, I'm trying to tackle some of the problems the car has, especially, the windows.

The passenger side operates, though it is slower than any car I've ever had in my life (6 Corvettes, a Chevy Blazer on SS Suspension, 2 Nissan 240SX's- one with a Silvia Conversion, a 1995 Mustang GT 5.0, Nissan Hardbody and a million others).

The real problem, is that when it goes down, it sounds like fingers on a chalkboard- literally! Which you can imagine is terrible. I need to know how to fix this, I pulled the door panel off and I can't find anything that's scraping.

The driver's side door is different.

It is so slow, that it will not make it all the way up on one try. You have to rock the switch back and forth and hope that it makes it past the first half, or you have to give it a little help, lest it will not go up.

I need help guys and girls, thanks again for the time.

lube any moving parts with WD 40 and wipe away excess, you can also use a Silicone based lubricant to treat and preserve any weather stripping around the door and window seals (just finished doing my entire car to keep them fresh ). Our cars have a tendency of having the window actuator arm or something like that breaking and dropping the window into the door frame. This is in part due to the somewhat large piece of heavy glass. There is not a lot you can do. Mine are slow too but dont scream

Heck in canada, I dont even move my windows up and down because they freeze and i dont want to stress the motor .

Oh and btw, i think the colour might be a primrose mist, not titanium . I've got the exact same model and year and colour but with gun metal rims .

good luck, cheers

I have the same problem, i had to replace the passenger side window when i got into a accident, the window used to go up and down fast(like elevators)..So they put a new window in and about 9 months later it still goes down slow...Maybee the window is new, or like Blind_shooter said, it could be the tint.

Thanks for the replies guys, I'll have to see if they will work better with some more lube.

As for the 11 cars, my dad and I buy them and sell them a lot, I never had any of the Vettes for longer than 2 months.
