Hey I have a 98 cl with a 3.0 and just had to put a motor in it. I got a really great deal on a motor out of a 97 and now it seems like the car does not have th power and when the rpms are held above 3500 or so the check engine light comes on and it will not go above 2 or 3000 I can'nt rebember been babying it. Do you guys have any thing that I can do.?.? I miss how the car use to run and would like to get it back to the old.

Pull the code and see what it says.

Sounds like either the the tranny is going, or something just isn't hooked up right.

its probably distributor related, and its probably in limp mode right now.

 

How do I get it out of the limp mode???

 

You'll need to pull the code first. Hit a local autozone and they will pull it for free. After you fix the problem, clear the code, your car will be out of limp mode. I wouldn't drive too much because your gas mileage is probably crap right now.

 

Well I pulled the code and it is a P1259. The reader said Fuel Air Managment.?.? The car is a 98 and I put a motor out of a 97 also do I need to run premium fuel?? Thanks for the help.

means either the fuel/air mixture is too lean or too rich.
