VSS fault sets Code 17 on CEL. If you don't have a code, your IP wiring, or speedo/odo/trip circuit board likely has failed.

good luck

Check ebay for replacement VSS. Plenty of parts available. Easy DIY.

RPM jumping is usually associated w/ faulty ignition parts; ignitor, coil, wires, or plugs or all of them. Start w plugs if you haven't done that in a while.

Code 65 indicates a fault (open or short) in the secondary O2 sensor heater circuit. This usually means the heater element is open (burn out), but can mean wiring or connector fault. I would first reset the ECU and see if code comes back immediately. If yes, a new O2 sensor is probably fix, but check wiring and connector for damage.

good luck
