Help removing vinyl
Help removing vinyl
Ok, well If any of you read my previous thread Essentially I gave up on the cd player issue, I went to the nearest radio shack and bought an "Audio Dubbing Cord" so I could connect my Ipod to my stereo... Only problem is that there isn't a place to put it in the front.. (my cigarette lighter is broken or else I would have bought the one that plugs into that)
So I spent the last 3 hours trying to remove the stereo so I could plug this in and realized It is attached to the vinyl some how, So Ive been trying to remove the vinyl around the head unit with no success so far...
Any help would be greatly appreciated..

thats one of the cords I bought to connect my Ipod to my stereo... but apparently if the Aux isn't in the front I have to plug it into the back..

Wha? Red Vinyl?
That cable won't work. There is no 1/8 inch audio aux. jack on the back of stock CL headunits.
If you really need it taken apart, why not have someone do it for you who knows what they are doing? You have to take out the whole center console.
Doesnt matter, that cable wont work..

My only guess is that you bought your car used and someone wrapped your piece for around your radio in red vinyl. So what year do you have and this will be a lot easier. And I'm guessing the iPod hook up to an AUX input is on an aftermarket Head Unit?
