They DO care, but they are busy, and have other lives. At least this is a step, and now people can post their problems in here, instead of clogging up the main forum, which should be reserved more for questions, and general convos. The DIY would be sweet, hopefully it will come along, but ethugging and insulting the mods will not help

Im not meaning to insult the mods, but im frustraited. I'm just offering/wanting to help them out and they read my PM's, I mean how hard is it to honestly do a quick reply saying either "no" or "yea good idea, I'll talk to the others and get back to you when I have time in a few weeks.."

OR....they could just ignore me. Im not trying to be mean, but its the principle of the thing. I'm offering my time and services for free, they could atleast respond back to me with a few words...

I'll just start a new thread about it, see what all the members think, and hopefully that might get the Mod's attention...

Again: Im not trying to be mean or insulting. I understand how busy they must be. But thats why Im offering to help. It would be different If I was just telling them to make the sticky/thread, but I'm offering to do it myself so they dont have to, and that way, im helping them out by getting something done what would benifit the members....

well not to be a dick, but all the information is already on the board. There are a TON of DIY's you just gotta do a search for them. I know the main thing that brought this up was your header install. BUt had you done a search for threads you would of known the header needed to be bent, or through trial and error and eyeballs you could of known they were installed backwards.

It's not that we don't care, we get questions like this all the time. We've done DIY threads and people still have the same questions (specifically the ones you are asking for). W/ 2,000 posts and you being here since 2002 you should know all the info you could ever need is on this forum. If you'd like to help me organize it all then let's do it. I've asked this of you guys numerous times

If you would like to find all the DIY threads and forward them to me I will then make a sticky

Thanks CLpower.....could you make a sticky of what the "REAL" gains of aftermarket mods are too...that's help a lot of people out.....we need to inform everyone how ads work, and how dynos can be altered to one's favor by the gear your in, etc etc.....there's a lot out there people should learn about when it comes to the aftermarket world....

also, where are the stickies being located? Are they going to be put here?

I have a problem, has anyone ever heard of this?

I am about to buy an Acura Cl 1997 2.2(i think) but there's a mechanical problem. the girl said she was just driving along when all of a sudden it died. then when she tried to restart it, it would just act like it wouldn't turn over. She said a friend of hers had a friend with the same car and the same thing happened and that it's like a $300 part and it will be fine. Well I took it to a shop, they finally got it to turn over but they can't keep it running. I'm hoping this sounds familiar to someone so they might know that part the friend of a friend was talking about, because the shop wants to start to take the timing apart and it's gonna cost over $500...so if that's not the problem i dont want them wasting time or my money....anyone got anything on this for me?

could be a battery related issue. Did all the warning lights (Check engine, battery, ABS, etc.) start lighting up in the dash?

can you turn it over, and keep it running until the next time it turns off? if so, this could be battery.

if it doesnt turn on at all, it could be alternator or starter.

Tia, I suggest you start a seperate thread with this question so it gets more of a response. Im not sure many people will see your question in this thread.

good luck!

as far as piping, 2.25-2.5'' is good for N/A (naturally aspirated). Turbo or Supercharged vehichles benefit from 3'' piping. Nitrous... hmm. maybe 2.5 or so? I think shiney (who just started spraying) is upping his pipe size from 2.25 to a catback. ask him (shineynitelite) what he's upping to.

as far as your tranny goes, you're going to want to take care of it. I hear a tranny cooler will help you out with that (I also hear that you can get one at a discount autozone for dirt cheap.) Search the forums for Transmission cooler, or tranny cooler.

everything else sounds good... except that chip. Others who have chipped their cars (venom 400) have all said it really didnt work out the way they wanted it to.

Go ahead and search the forums for all you need. There are archives upon archives of experience and info that you can read and benefit from.

Good luck,
-Alex
