The CL broke down

Car started making a knocking sound under the black cover on the right side of the engine. I assume its the timing belt. I guess it tore. Power steering then went out. I wasnt to far from home so i tryed driving it home. I was driving home put it in nuetral and noticed my rpms were at zero. I guess it finally broke then. I parked it in the middle of the street. Had some old lady help me best as she could. I pushed it up a hill while its raining on me. Im slidin all over. What a shit day.

I guess i just need to buy new belts and hope i didnt mess anything else up while driving it home.

fingers crossed you didnt really "F" up you motor. valves can get damaged, rods bent even pistons damaged is possible when driving with no belt like you did.

Well I doubt it's the timing belt unless you were seriously late on that bit of maintenance, in which case, a lesson well learned.

There's a picture icon when you go to post a reply, you can use that and post a link to a picture hosted somewhere on the web, or use with no spaces

The harmonic balancer was worn out and i bought a new one put it on. I was hoping the car would start up but nothing is ever easy. The timing belt is ruined too. It doesnt sound like it normally does when cranking. Looks like I have a big job ahead of me. I guess ill try a new timing belt first. If internals are messed up, ill be getting an h22.

The timing belts are all on and look good. I really have no idea what to look for. Im pretty sure my internals are messed up. I need to wait for my friend to get back to look at it. I would take it to a mechanic but i dont wana spend money just to have him tell me its unrepairable.

have a leakdown and compression test done, that can help you asses if it's damaged and where the majority of the damage is without completely ripping it apart.

Got it running today! I had to write and english paper so I didn't get it driving today. My timing was messed up. I just followed a guide for replacing the belts. After all the frustration and worry I'm kind of glad it happened. I went from not knowing what anything was called and not knowing what the hell im looking at to pretty much understanding everything. I just hope everything goes smoothly tommarow.(knock on my wood table)

Still do a compression test right?

I would still do one to make sure you have no bent valves or anything

I drove it around the block with no problems. I didn't want to drive it to much because i had no way of tighting the bolt in the crank tight enough. I need that tool to hold it down while i tighten it. Ill get some real driving in tommarow.

185 psi for all 4 on the compression test. Is there a specific number it should be at. I know its good If they are all very close to each other.

This is what you need Powerbuilt 648796 Honda Crankcase Pulley Removal Tool about $25. How did you get it off in the first place?
