ok...just checked it out carefully..looks to be that little blue plastic part thats suppossed to touch the sensor on the pedal itself..for now i just put a penny in the slot so it would shut off...

so how do i fix it properly??what is the part name i need or is there some other generic fix aside from my penny which ill fall out of place as soon as i touch the brake tomoro

thanx 4 info mates

so you are not pressing the brakes or the hand brake is not up and the brakes lights are on ?

EDIT: read your post above, is there a way you can snap a pic and post it ?

I think your brake pedal is not coming up all the way....how is the braking ?

its too dark to take a pic right now but basically on the pedal bar theres a slot where im guessing the bolt or plastic thing goes in and it touches the spot where the button that shuts the brake lights on or off is located..

concept like this pic

hmmmm
now hoping i can actually get the part at local auro store and if so if i can do it myself..lol

oh yeah..and to be clear its not the switch itself that faulty its the little piece that touches the switch itself..(its the piece on the brake bar)

Hey thanks for making this post. I had the same problem, but this article helped. I used a dime instead of penny so I spent $0.09 cent more than the other guy LOL.

I had same problem, different fix

I understand this is an old thread, but in case anyone is looking at this, I had the same problem in my 2008 RDX. The switch on my pedal was fine, and even after placing a penny there to give it more pressure, the lights were still on.

Turns out I had a blown fuse! All I had to do was go under the hood into the fuse box, looked at the manual to find the correct fuse #, and replaced it. Finally, those damn lights turned off.

I hope this helps anyone who is experiencing the same frustrations I was.
