Hello,

I wanted to start off by saying I did use the search function and found that my capacity of my 2.2 cl engine oil capacity is ~4.5 quarts.

However, changing my oil the other day and putting in 4.5 quarts just BARELY put a tiny drop on the dip stick end.

I did let the oil run through engine, filled oil filter (correct oil filter), then let it sit for about 20 mins.

I just recently bought this car and I am wondering if someone put the wrong dipstick in this vehicle, thus giving me an inaccurate reading.

I didn't want to go over 4.5quarts since I know thats what it should be.. but I would like to be able to check the oil and get an accurate reading.

Can someone please tell me the length of their dipstick.(I know,sounds so wrong, lol).. for a stock 1997 2.2 dipstick?

And if someone can measure their dip stick, Can you please measure from tip to the base that sits flush with dip stick tube. And also full length from tip to tip.Thanks again..Shawn

 

I was walking into my garage and was going to measure it for you, and my car wasnt there. I forgot it just broke down and isnt at home. lol ill let u know tomarrow when i tow it home if no one else give you an answer before then.

r u measuring your oil on a level surface?...sounds like this could b ur problem...but if not my dipstick is 19 and one-eighth inches from tip to where the flat metal part meets the rubber.
