Sorry to hear about the accident.

I'm concerned about your comment regarding the driver you rear-ended.

Does it matter what 'ethnicity' the driver was?

If you were driving too close (and quite possibly too fast) behind the car in front to have ample stopping time, then the police were correct to charge you.

Please don't blame the driver (or refer to their ethnicity -- since bad drivers are simply bad).

Unfortunately you were the one who was charged by the authorities -- based on the information they decided you were responsible.

Good luck getting your car fixed.

Consider yourself lucky that you were not injured (and your car isn't a right off).

Agreed. Some people get too upset over little racial comments.

I'm Italian and you don't see me throwing a fit every time someone makes a comment about the mafia.

Everyone's entitled to their opinions here in the forums. I will leave the race/racial comments aside.

Only thing left to comment and I hope everyone can be honest about it, is this:

If one drives like hot shit and yes, follow too closely then ultimately blame the person in front because you ended up rear-ending them, them blame no one else but yourself.

I've been tail-gated more times than I can remember, and yes I've heard the terrible sounds of squeeling tires directly behind me more times than I care for. (Fortunately I've been lucky so far with just too close to call incidents).

Just remember that there is a specific distance that one must keep between ones car and the vehicle in front of them. This provides the necessary stopping distance in case of sudden stops (if so required).

In this case it didn't happen.

Read the drivers manual again.

'Nuff said :blindfold

That sucks to see man, your car was looking real clean before the accident.

I didn't think oriental was a negative racial word at all, maybe people are just too sensitive about it these days. Also, I dunno why people are defending the lady that "slammed on her brakes out of the blue" according to the story. From the story he gave it sounded like she was in fact a shitty driver.

hey guys i just wanted to say thanks for the support and the comments....as for the oreintal comment im sorry to all that it offended it was just upsetting that the lady didnt speak a drop of english at all and had her husband bring a translation book to the site so she could talk to the officer. as for the guy whose upset up there i was riding in a safe driving distance and i have to many tickets to by "hott Rodding" around it was simply that the sun glare was right on her car and i was 1 unable to see all of her brake lights on and 2 unable to estimate the speed that she was going. obiously it was my fault and iwill admitt that. as for this forum yes you are intitled to your own opinion, but with my experiences everyone has been nice , so again i apologies for the comment but there's no need to freak out man.

I don't understand what race has to do with the abilities of drivers?

I apologise to those who I may think my opinions are trivial, however I thought I'd point out that there are generalizations which shouldn't apply.

Consider the best drifters are all mostly from Japan. Would you say they are bad drivers?

Here is a definition of 'Oriental':

a member of an Oriental race; the term is regarded as offensive by Asians (especially by Asian Americans)

For the record I appreciate sweetcl97 for clarifying his comments, and any misunderstandings which I may have mistaken as inappropriate.

Simple solution, steal all your parts out of the wrecked one, and start again on a blank canvas

I got hit from the side by a semi-drunk guy when i was driving a camry xle, the damage was not even extensive , all the parts were very good and i could have made some $$ parting them out but it was too late b/c the insurance comp already sold it to a junk yard (after they declared total on the car)...... all i got out in time was the aftermarket sonny head unit... So call your lawyer/insurrance up and ask to see your car, make up excuses like you 4got something.... and pull out everything you can...
