ignition switch assembly held in place by security bolt - HELP!
car is a 99 cl 3.0
I'm trying to replace the ignition switch. The only problem is I can't get at 1 phillips head screw holding the switch in place. The whole assembly is bolted to the steering column with a security bolt that has a flat head so I can't get at that one screw to take the switch off. Any suggestions?

HOW?! I'm trying to do this right now, as my switch was already replaced by the dealership once. i CANNOT get to the last screw, so i resorted to breaking all the plastic off around that screw, planning to undo it with a pair of pliers once i got the rest of the assembly out of the way. but then the rest of the switch will not simply "SLIDE OUT" as so many have suggested, it won't fit out without taking something else loose, but i don't know what. HOW did you DO it?

Easier than you think
I had to replace the ignition switch on my '99 CL 3.0 as well and at first I was faced with the same problem that perplexed me for a bit.
Here is the solution I used that was very effective.
What you will need is:
A drill
Screwdriver set with preferably a six or 8 point star head
A metal drill bit that is slightly smaller in diameter than the tip of the screwdriver head
1) Drill a hole in the top center of the security bolt. It doesn't have to be very deep. maybe 1/8th to 1/4 of an inch.
2) Jam the screwdriver into the freshly drilled hole
3) Unscrew the security bolt
If you have a center punch, it might help guide the drill bit and keep it on center.
For obvious safety reasons, please don't have your legs/thighs directly below the location that you are drilling. In the unfortunate even that the drill slips, you clearly don't have a running vehicle to take you to the hospital.
