Window regulator.

I know there are a million of these posts if I search (which is why I am posting this. I looked through a ton of the archive posts, but am still not sure what to go with. I have heard about people buying ones off ebay, and then they just break a couple months later again. My question is should I pay a little more for one on ebay and hope more money= better quality? Is there some sort of specification I should look for? Thanks...

What seller did you get it from? I was so pissed, I was out of town just washed and vacuumed the car out, and I hop back in the car, shut the door, and boom the glass goes shooting down into the door. I was thinking my tint was going to be scratched, and was also thinking I was lucky it didn't shatter.

The window motor was the smallest of my problems.. 15 minutes to fix that.

i bought mine from the ebay seller www.1aautomotive.com. Its a bit more expensive (~$75) but they offer a lifetime warranty so I think its worth it.

its funny because i did the same thing before i changed my own. my regulator went out right after i bought the car so i took it to the dealer to get it fixed. $150 to fix it on my 2.2, but they told me i was fortunate that i didn't have a 3.0 because their regulators are $300

My buddy and I looked at it for like 2 hours through the slots in the door, trying to figure out how it came un-hooked. Once, I came on here and read the posts that this was a common problem I knew I didn't have a chance fixing it at all. There is no way I would have known without searching( it looked like the cable just came out of the slot or something). I was about to take it out and see how it all worked, but then decided to wait untill I returned to my home town in case I needed a part.

That is why I was torn. The pics would show the higher end ones were made with more metal, and I think I had read the cheap plastic was the problem....

I really love the fact I can search when I have a problem, and people have been there and done that, so I don't have a heart attack. I will return the favor soon.

Just don't be an airhead like me and forget to put the arm rest bracket back on. I refuse to take that door back apart to put that thing back on, I figure I'll just start collecting parts to the car...

1a also has a regular website, and that's were i have mine from. When mine broke, they sent me a new one, charged me, and then refunded me when I sent the old one back. Pretty good deal IMO.

I'm trying really hard not to get attached to my car, then I'll end up doing what you're doing. As long as I keep collecting random pieces that fall off (or I forget to put back on) then I won't want to keep it anymore.

I fixed my girlfriends about a month ago and my mechanic also recommended that I lube up the tracks with white lithium grease to help it slide better. I decided to be proactive and also lube up the other windows and my windows on my car. BIG MISTAKE!! That stuff is crap, it lubes up nice the first day but then gums up and makes teh problem worse! I just re-lubed with WD40 and might go pick up some silicone lube if that doesn't last
