Will you move on from a CL?
Will you move on from a CL?
NO! I will never not have a CL, if I can afford to. Does anyone else feel the same way?
POLL: is your CL just something you're playing with at the moment, and you expect to move on when you want/can?
Or do you have strong feelings for this bitch and will keep one for as long as possible?
and now for a lovely side track:
Well it's a nice fucking day out, and driving around was so nice, and it got me thinking about my future fleet...
In no way am I saying "I'll probably have this," but I am saying, "this is what I want, and this is what I'm going to try to accomplish." I don't know what order I'd try to acquire these, but some would obviously come before others.
And I'm trying to keep it relatively realistic, and I'm under the assumption I will be selling my soul after law school to make bank.
- CL project car to customize the fuck out of
- Lightly used auto rwd/awd luxury sedan for business shit, passengers, maybe highway trips
- ariel atom.
- Decent pickup for hauling the boat/jet skis and trips to the slopes
- A new stock civic/accord or something for a reliable DD
I don't think that's too much to hope for by the time I'm middle-aged or a little older, but of course it is hoping.
and of course, if I end up making some real serious money, this would be a much different list..
Luckily I don't give a shit about houses... I have an apt right now and I basically just spend all my time in my bedroom. I will probably end up with some simple ass house but on a nice plot of land.
anyone else have a plan like this??

Yeah.. My CL is paid off and when I move into a larger house in a year, I am paying off my wifes car and buying myself something. I just dont know what... I saw a new STi yesterday and they are hot as hell, But I think I just want something more luxurious.. TL or a new Accord has my interests peaked thus far... When this happens, I will keep the CL and it will be my "project" car
I would love to have a Dodge 1500 hemi, But with the price of gas right now... Forget it.

I've moved on a while ago. I miss it sometimes.Right now, i can drive a 2 door coupe, being single, no kids, no need to transport anything. But by the time I'm the market for another car, I think my priorities might shift. I might need something bigger, roomier, more practical.
Once the Lude serves its days, I'm in the market for a 4 door. Probably TSX or TL. Maybe BMW 3 series.

One day I may part ways with my CL, depending on if she makes it to show or not. That's the goal with my CL, since she's all paid and garaged. One day I will probably sell her to get something new, but def not for a few years. I would be heartbroken to part with her, especially after all the money, time and effort I've put in and continue to put in to her, but one day I want another WS6
I hope to, if money allows have:
1) Daily driver-large sedan, hopefully a used Mercedes S-class
2)Weekend car or extreme project car-Honda S2000/Nsx ish or Datsun 510
3)Keep the Cl and make it the exact car I have in my mind today- Bride Gias seats, maybe a K24, Work Meister S1/2/3's, etc.
Of course, this all relies on me passing the 6 year medical program I'm going into.

The cl is my first car and I'll do everything I can to keep as long as possible, even if it's sitting broke down in my garage. Although I would like to eventually get an S2000 or something like that, or maybe a TL-S
+1 on the legacy gt. Got to drive one when my dad was looking at Tribeca's a while back. Verrry nice. The turbo'd Forresters were cool too.

I bought a daily driver to keep and preserve my CL, but I can honestly say she will probably be gone one day, when I grow into something else, won't be for quite a while though

I can't picture you letting the bandit go. I call

for all those tl responses:
I'll will most likely keep my CL for as long as possible.. Even after I get it looking how I feel it should.. (A sexy, slammed to the ground, front/rear lipped beast w/ *other secret mods*).. I currently don't drive my car much because I'm at school (and I live so close to campus that I can walk plus, someone is keying cars on campus too)
I Love My CL and I can't wait to finish her.

idk y? but i love my CL. just the way it looks. the rear end is so shexxie to me. and the front is grrr. hot looking too. and no one here has one or even knows what it is.. thats why i love the CL. and whenever i see another one rollin on the highway or streets, im just like dangggg. thats my car and its HOT. and its my first car too. but with so many problems. but it has taught me a lot about cars. since i have to do all the fixing. sound system, tires, intake, exhaust, slave/Clutch master cylinder. im keeping this car as long as i can. i just really want a new paint job, tires, clutch.. and shed be runnin like a champ!!
God gave me this car instead of a NIssan 350Z,teg,civic,240sx for a reason. and yes, i was going to get a 350z but i just say no to my dad just when he was going to sign the papers. this is my ride and me and GOD are rolling till we die.. REP CHRIST..!

Well, lets see...
I've had a couple Mustangs, RX7's & 300ZX's (REAL SPEED) which I've always felt that I'll NEVER get rid of! Now I have a Chevy Suburban & I feel the same way about her too.
But anyhow... I'll more than likely always keep this CL. Yeah its paid off (bought it for $500) & its in GREAT shape, more or less. Besides I got an 17yr old who keeps whispering in my ears that its time for her to have a car... & now she's eying MY CL..

Did you notice that difference between your TL and CL Percy?

The tl made me forget and slack on my cl,why do you think it's in YOUR yard right now!!!
you ever drove a type-s cuz it's a diff animal. with the comptech suspension I take corners like I'm glued to the ground. I love the smoothness of the tl more and feel safer at high speeds(cl was abit floaty).
although I must admit the type-s,the base tl along with the 3.0(all 3 j-series)suffers from lack of low end. low rpm's suck, but when you hit the powerband/vtec
.I'll always favor the styling of the 1g cl, I still to this day actually like my cl's alittle exterior alittle more than my tl but the interior is no comparison.
Get a previous generation four door Accord with the 2.4 L
The new one looks too conservative for me... even the Hyundai Sonata and Elantra look better

i'm lovin the cl. it just needs a little work (and an h swap). i'll probably keep it for a while, cause it still looks so damn new. i always ask people what year they think it is, and i've gotten answers as new as '03. i falkin love it.
and the ladies love the automated climate control.
but if i do get rid of it, i will probably sell it to my younger brother, so it'll at least stay in the family, and i'll have a down payment for either an rsx-s or a cl-s.

Agreed!I love my CL with a passion, but I realized today that I eventually will have something else after college, probably a TL or BMW 1 series. I'll keep her as long as I can, but we'll see what happens. I always have my bike to toy around on, thank God.
