wierd foking car!!!!!

Omg today i was ready to shoot my CL......


so early this morning im dirivng to work and saw the battery light come on, think ok something tripped somewhere because i have a yellow top and a new alt 2 mo ago. So nothing happens, but on my way home my car gets demonicly possessed!!!

Half way home the lights get dimmer so i figure ok either my battery just shit on me or the alt did, then next thing i know my transmission wouldnt shift into second and would barley give the car power to move. I thought wtf? am i now a member of the 2 nd tranny club? so by this time im thinking gawd $2000? $2500? $2800? how much is this gonna cost me. so i had to play with the gears to get it to shift just to get power to move the car to get it home. So 4 blocks away my car now hits possession!! The gauges just jolt up then down n everywhere in between n die!!! so now needles are dead!! Then the radio is beeping on and off and i knew that meant i was low power. then one headlight goes out!! Heaters goes off and the car just evenutally said fuck you, your not making it home! So luckily i had a battery jumper (highly recommend everybody to get one!) and snap that on and the car gets life back into it. so i leave it on there and drive the 3 blocks home with my hood propped up....not fun.

Get home and tear the battery out, its dead, i take it to autozone (block away) and they say its dead....no shit, thank you asshole for the obvious....put a load test on it but obviously if its not charged its not gonna work. Guy was a dipshit. So then i rip the alternator out (pain in the ass to remove) and take it there and i dont think ive ever been happy to hear "your alt is dead" because he looked at me funny when i said "good!!" Its got a lifetime warranty so they replaced it free. Now i put it back in the car and no lights no warnings and no more possession of the needles and heater....Everything back to normal..Car shifts ok but lil rugged, i have a feeling my tranny is on its way out the door, but then again it might just be because im at the 3k mark for an oil change...

Now what my question is, why the hell did the tranny skip 2nd gear and wouldnt shift if its just losing power? I told that to the guy at autozone he said NAAAA The tranny has nothing to do with the power....I figured maybe the power wasnt getting to the engine so there was no power to tell the tranny to shift....

your ecu had no power, your ecu is what changes the gears based on speed sensors. no power to the speed sensors meant the tranny was shifting by pressure. same reason your guages were jumpin up and down. power spikes in the ecu. you might want to check your capacitor wires or your amp wires to make sure they arent being ground out.

same thing happend to me when my alternator and batt crapped out on me

where are those wires and what color are they?

the cap and amp wires for your speakers in the trunk..

guessing factory amp and cap is under the drivers seat?

the factory amp is in the back of the trunk by the jack, but wilp was talking about your system

well im pulling my system out, useless since i really dont use it much.

but my system is disconnected at the circuit breaker under the hood so i know thats not draining it. I'll have to check the wires on the amp and cap. bleh
