make sure the oil filter doesent still have the old gasket on it. two gaskets is bad news and happens alot, its not something you'd think about when removing your old oil filter.

man sorry to say but thats bad. i had the same problem the first few weeks i bought my car. it was leaking oil, and i thought it was the oil pan. so i took it to honda to get replaced and they replaced it. but as soon as i got home that day it was still leaking. so, i went back to honda and they said 9 times out of 10, the problem is NOT the upper rear main seal. unfortunatly for me it was. so they charged me up the ass to replace the rear main seal, but credited me back for the oil pan.

so, in my thoughts you should get it checked out professionaly.

my Teg was an eco disaster. Rear main, then some yahoo put the wrong filter on, that poor car... Oh well, definately odd not to see any on the ground... you could have quite a bit of oil in your plastics under the engine... Or, you may be burning it, but you would see that shit.

Im at work looking at new motors, f23's h22's and a b20. only reason for a b20 is to have a bulletproof b series. Im stressing out big time. i dont really have $$ for a h22 swap.
I cant even imagine how much $$ it would be to fix this problem. I better learn how to be 'dancer'. i dont get it cause my car runs fine. i rev it out and it pulls well.

Check all of your gaskets first. If it was your head gasket, you'd most likely be leaking coolant to. Check your valve cover gasket. That was where mine was leaking. I couldn't see it cuz it was leaking out of the back.

Look for oil leaking out of them and dirtying up your engine. It leaves a black film on your head or block. or both

Listen you are really stressing. Remove your valve cover. Look at the color of your oil. If it looks foamy and white looking, realise that you are now screwed. If its dark brown which it will be you are fine. If you had engine damage you would notice it. There would be substancial vibrations, overheating and noise. Chances are you are just burning oil because you drive hard. My H22 eats oil like a mofo. The vtec is a killer. It burns oil so bad I can smell it at times but at least I know there is lubrication right. I'm sure your car is fine.

I suggest your car is cold when you do this. Remove your spark plug wires. Remove PVC valve i think its called. The whole point is to remove hoses from the head because you will be opening the engine. The top at least. Remove nuts off top. Make sure you do not loose the bushings below. Remove whole top. WALA!
Once removed alalyse the engine. Before closing top look at rubber gasket around valve cover walls and spark plug holes. Make sure you did not crack or break them when you removed the valve cover. If you did break it you can buy yourself a new one at your local acura dealership for less then $20. Good luck. I would have taken pics for you if I have my old F series.

Correct, but a DOHC VTEC engine burns up more than a SOHC VTEC motor. The S2000, Integra GS-R, ITR.

Need a compression test, and possibly a leakdown test.

That is true but if he does not notice any change in performance then that is highly not the issue.
He also says there is no visible oil leaking on ground.

DOHC or SOHC...He still shouldn't be losing 3.5 quarts of oil in a month. I don't think it's the mear V-Tech consuming oil. He's leaking somewhere
