Wheel Offset

I know that our bolt pattern on our cars is 4/114, correct? But the perfect offset for our wheels should be somewhere in the 42 mm area. I would really like to know what offset is and if you could get by w/ a 40 mm offset? Thanks for your time

Bolt pattern is 4 x 114.3.

Stock rims are 50mm off-set (at least on the '97 3.0CL).

I have 42mm on my 18's.

40 would work.

i think the .3 is a given; for the most part the bolt patterns are 4 x 100 and 4 x 114.3

45 is good for 17's - my wheels are 17x7 w/ 45mm offset and they sit just like factory.

18's shouldn't be a problem either at that offset as long as you stick close to your stock diameter AND you don't go too wide

also depends on how low your car is

I've have 19 inch hart c2's with a sportline drop and 215/35/19s and they ofset is 45. That ofset is perfect for my car with the drop, didn't have to mod the fender lip at all and it clears the front rotors by about a hair. My car is a 97 2.2
