it's not the money but the time that the problem. there is one bolt on each rear lower strut that is the problem, if it breaks, that's when you have the problem. salt water and dirt get in between the bolt and sleeve and they become one like in my case- the replacement bolt i bought was like .69 at home depot, but getting the old one out is the problem - don't even consider drilling it out!!! get a torch, heat it up, and whack it.

I went to get my car lowered yesterday. It has been rescheduled for monday because the bolt was seized in the lower strut bushing!! Had to get the stuff from Honda.

I'd agree that the chances are high. I tried to install my prokit and kyb combo this past weekend (99 w/ 50k mi). Started with the driverside rear and sure enough, I worked several hours on that one lower bolt with no success. With the car on jack stands even with a breaker bar, its hard to a good angle and connection for maximum torque on that bolt. Out of curiosity, I tried the passenger side lower bolt and it turned w/ just a little torque. So I gave up and paid a shop. With the car on a lift and with impact wrenches they still had trouble but finally got it. Its frustrating knowing I could have done it myself in a few hours if not for that one bolt. However it is like a different car w/ suspension and CAI in. Worth the frustration

Anyone who lives in winter weather climates can pretty much expect at leat one of the bolts to be siezed.
