i bought my 98 3.0 about 6 months ago, it now has 41,000 miles, does anyone know if there is still a warranty or not?

 

S/B powertrain to 100,000? The rest would depend on other factors when you bought the car. If you got it from an Acura dealer (like I did) 1 yr certified warranty covers everything for a year after you bought it. You could also buy the extended warranty and extend that.....3 yrs or so? But if you bought it from a private or non Acura dealership you might just have powertrain plus a couple other things that might be covered.

 

i bought it from an old lady, do you think i would have to call acura and switch the warranty on the powertrain in order for me to be covered or if i just bring the car in they would know.

 

Acura's standard (transferable) warranty runs 4 years or 50,000 miles (which ever comes first).

 

SO I SHOULD FIND OUT WHEN MY CAR WAS PURCHASED FROM dealer because i only have 41 on my car and it is a 98. if i called acura do you think they could tell me whenit was purchased because i dont think i have this womens number anymore.

 

They should. Just give them the VIN #. Although, they may want you to prove ownership of the car by showing up with the title or registration.

As long as you car wasn't sold ealier than this Month, 4 years ago, you're set!

 

THANKS, THATS GOOD BECAUSE JUST THIS WEEKEND I SAW SOME dried up antifreeze i think coming from the thermostat. well i will let them look at it.

 

the orignaly warrenty on my cl was 60,000 miles or 4 years whatever comes first. i bought the extended warrenty when i bought the car used in aug 00. and it was extended to 100,000 or 7 years. and it sure came in handy. in order to extend ur warrenty from acura u muist do so before the orignal is up.
