upgrades for 98 2.3 CL?

Ok.. i'm a total newbie at this whole mod deal. I'm about to buy a 1998 2.3 CL with the 5 speed. The thing is in totally stock right now, and a real sweet car, but i think it need a little more power. It seems like the best way to do this pretty cheaply is a cold air intake, followed possibly by an exhaust system, but I can't find an AEM or Injen intake listed to fit this car? are they listed under something else? also, are there any other ways of getting a relatively inexpensive extra 15 or 20 hp and boosting the torque a bit as well? thanks!

i believe that the 98+ accord intake will fit for your car. i have the 97 and all 94-97 accord parts fit great. if your interested, i can get parts for pretty cheap. also i have a 15" alpine type-r for sale. have any questions? email me at beta6blurry@yahoo.com

The 98+ will fit, but the 94-97 will fit better even though your car is a 98 the engine compartment is more like the 97 accord.

thanks guys... so you all think the cold air intake is a good place to start? what should i do beyond that if i want more hp? i think ultimately, i'd like to get it up in the 180-190 range with torque well over 200.

180-190 with a 2.3 will require a lot of modifications. I don't know if it will be worth it, but it's your money. But i'm still pretty much a newbie at this..so maybe i dont know.

well... i'm not really looking for a 14 or even 15 second track car, and i'm not looking to draw attention to myself. I just want something with some decent pickup as i get onto the freeway, the stock version is almost fast enough, i just want a little extra kick basically.

also, do these things (intake, headers, exhaust) hurt reliability at all? will it wear out my engine faster?
