Tranny Swap?

Friend told me you can swap an automatic tranny to a 5 or 6 speed manual in a civic for about 600 bucks.... althought he's been known to lie... I thought it would be worth a try. Possible to swap a automatic trannsmission in a 99 3.0 CL to manual? Custom work? impossible? NSX tranny? expensive?.....

j30a is the engine code for the V6 3.0 liter VTEC engine in a 3.0 CL. There are no manual trannys that will work with it since no manual tranny was ever made for it. It is rumored that an NSX tranny will work with but I some how doubt it will and it would cost you alot more than $600 for an nsx tranny.

I was considering the Level Ten transmission updrade... but I've been hearing a lot of bad rep about them. I don't know much about what they do... but isn't there some other alternatives instead of entirely changing the transmission?

Why exactly are you looking to do tranny work? People that get trannys rebuilt by level ten are those who are putting done more power than the stock transmission can handle. They can rebuild a tranny with more aggresive and shorter gears. These rebuilds run well over $1,000 and are not worth it unless you are seriously into racing.

I'm just making plans.. and I do plan to increase the hp/torque on my 99 3.0 CL, which needs a tranny that can handle the increased power. Is there a site or somewhere I can get more information about this level ten upgrade? I remember glancing at another thread and remembering the upgrade to be in the midst of 3600...? maybe I'm wrong.
<p>
P.S. - Turbo + 99 CL = $$$?

Turbocharging a 3.0 CL is big time $$$$$ custom job. Probably over or around $5,000. Level ten does have a website but I can't remember it right now. Try doing a search on a search engine and I'm sure you can find it. $3,500 is probably with a new tranny. If you ship them your tranny they usually charge around $1,500. Some one was selling one on the blackmarket not that long ago. Try doing a search.
