tranny fluid

I have basically no transmission fluid.
I searched, and it seems that transmission fluid should not just "disappear",
and that this is a sign of a leak = bad tranny.
Is this definitely the case?

I plan on getting fluid in the morning and filling it up, is this a bad idea?
Would a flush be good/bad?
I'm assuming most responses will be "tranny is toast", but might there be hope??

Ah
I'm scared for my 3.0

I would check for leaks first. If you don't find any leaks I'd try flushing the fluid to see if that helps. If those don't help you might be SOL.

When mine went last time, the fluid wasn't leaking when the car was sitting, so there were no puddles on the ground. The entire underside of my car was coated in the stuff, so my siggestion is just check under the car first to see if it's leaking onto other parts of the car. If so, get new linear solenoids before you go for the tranny. That's what I did but I ended up having to get a re-build and my check engine's on again with 3 tranny codes again...

remember do NOT check the fluid with the car running.. most cars yes but most honda's no. if its running it will be low. park it on level ground and make sure its warmed up, turn it off and check the level.

you might want to do this first cause if you over fill it too much it will hydrolock.

I took it to aamco, and they said there is a leak. They haven't finished with it yet, so I'm sitting here waiting for their call.
What am I looking at for a leak? Major replacements? A lot of money?

Just got a call back. I forget exactly what they said, but it has to do with something like the axle on the driver's side. He said they have to take off the axle and fix the leak, use some cleaner, replace some parts, and fill it back up with fluid. He said the total with parts and labor is like 150, not including tax.
90 day, 3000 mile warranty.
He told me everything besides that is fine, and it should be in good shape.
