tech. question (mirrors/heated seats)

I have searched for this question but found no luck.... I have a 97 3.0... My power mirrors, and heated seats are not working. Might have gone out at same time. I checked all connections and they are tight. I checked all fuses, both under hood and drivers side floor box. All fuses are good. I guess my question is; are the two related in one relay under the hood? Or are these just two unrelated deaths of electronics. Any help would be appreciated......

did you visually inspect the fuses? or use a fuse tester?

I actually replaced the 15 amp under the hood and the 7.5 by the dead pedal.

Do the switches light up? On my friends heated seats, they were just unplugged.

Next step is to see if there is power going thru the fuse (Even though it is not broken). Since there is no power from the switch to the fuse and switch to seat.

correction.... seat heaters light up when lights are on, but not when pressed on. That tells me connections are good. Still wondering if the two are related (heaters and mirrors)?

Cool that is good. Hmm but this is kinda difficult. Did you do any changes to the car beforehand like change simple things like a light bulb. I had a friend also that he put in 100 watt bulbs in the headlights and they would cause the dash light fuse to keep blowing out. Very strange those ford cars. That took the mechanics at ford 6 months to figure out.

Funny you say that, I installed a cd player, HID headlights, and replaced the window regulator and switch. I thought this happenned after the window regulator, but I checked all my connections and they seem good...... I am really just trying to fix the little stuff on this car before I sell it, so if I never figure it out, I guess I won't lose any sleep..

Heated Seat Switch & Rear Defrost

I'm kinda piggy backing off this original post. My driver side heat seat switch don't light up nor warm up. Now that you mention it, I will check fuse today. But my rear defrost doesn't work for some reason. When pressed, the defrost ligt will light up, but don't defrost. What does that sound like or what does that mean? Hope it doesn't mean I gotta replace glass in the back.

But my heated seat switch does not light up at all. Hope you guys/girls can help me and shed some light on these things in front of me. I thank all of you in advance for your time & efforts to respond.
