leaving the amp (radio) on when you shut you car off is NOT good for a sub. You havea sub with stock system?! I had that set up and had same issue.. its the feedback off current... no initial harm but constantly doing it will fry your coils

Stock system?? Best bet is to put the sub amp on a switch. If your good with electronics you could rig up a relay to turn it off/on.

my bandpass does it too. i got a kenwood deck. doubt its the box but, i think its the internal powersupply in the amp, discharging kind of like a capasitor. hell i dont know im just talkin out of my ass.

I used to get the same thing. I found out that when I turn the "bass boost" control knob down it goes away. I am running off of the stock 99 2.3CL system (no new headunit ro anything). It was a pain to install but works just fine. I had to get an adapter to splice into the part of the wiring harness that goes to the back of the CD player. This was for the remote wire, which turns the amp off when either the headunit is off or the car is off. I also had to get another adapter which spliced into the back speakers for the RCA plugs. If you have a control knob try tunring it down before you turn the car off.

lol...you don't need to be good with electronics to do this....all i did was cut the turn-on lead wire in half and twist each end around a prong on the switch
