sub install

did some pretty extensive searching and dont really know if i found the answer i was lookin for so quick question here..just got a new deck installed and gonna do the sub/amp this weekend and i was wondering what all i needed to do to access the back of the deck for wiring and shit...its a 97 2.2 auto...thanks guys

take the tools that came with your deck, stick them in the sides and pop it out

There is a black trim all the way around the stereo and clock. You can pop that out using a really fine screwdriver, or something you can pry the side with without scratching it. Once you get that out, there are two screws underneath the stereo where its mounts to the car, Take those our, and you got the stereo. Make sure you get a stereo code before you take it out, or you won't be able to use it.

i already got the deck installed professionally by the place that i bought it from..alpine cdm 9821 so i just need to access the back of the deck to wire the amp....never done an install before but im doin it w/a friend so im sure he knows what to do but once i remove the black trim can i hook up the wires to the back of the deck or will i need to remove the deck and worry about the stereo code... or if i leave the deck in while attaching rca and shit do i need to remove anything else on the dash?? thanks for the help guys

piece of cake, run a power wire from the battery to the amp, ground the amp, run the remote wire from the back of the head unit. hook up the rca's to the hu run it to the amp. done.

if you cant get the center console apart, maybe you should just have someone install it for you

SEEN U ALREADY INSTALLED IT.

what type of equipment did you use?

what u mean by equipment..if you mean components i installed 2 12" kicker compvr's (bout a yr old)...cpl yr old kenwood amp and alpine cdm-9821 HU....just the right amount of bass for me

haha yea yea..cashflow isnt too fat at this age so the moddin is goin kinda slow
