Strut Tower Bars?

I used the search function trying to find info on strut tower bars for a 1st generation CL. All I really found was info about 2001+ CL's.

I was wondering if a 94-97 Accord or 98-01 V6 Accord aftermarket strut bar would fit a 98 3.0. If so, is it really worth it to go for a DC Sports vs. a cheap TenzoR one.

Obviously you get what you pay for, but would I really notice a difference.

I have a cusco front strut installed in my car. It was from a 94-97 accord. It fits right in with no problem at all. Only thing you have to do is, shave off a little metal piece on the passenger side where the strut goes. It's in the way, causes the strut not to sit flat on the surface.

I have heard aftermarkets are a waste on our car. Our strut braces attach over the struts and to the fire wall (3 spots), thus making them stronger than aftermarkets. If you want to enhance handling, go with a set of sways, though your endlinks will break occasionally.

Also have heard that the rear, which is lighter, and our car being front wheel drive, doesn't do too much by itself. If you add the full front and rear sways, with good tyres/suspension you can make your ass end come out around corners...which is impressive being a FWD.

so getting struts on our car would actually lower performance?
and sways break easy? how much would it be to fix the sways if they do break?

It doesn't even look like one can fit on there under the stock upper strut bar. Looks like I don't want that.

If I happen to go with sways, what brand would you guys suggest for a 1st gen. Just the Eibach's or does Comptech make one?

Most people on the board have suspension techniques, around $300

Hey, Big E, do you have springs/shocks yet? I was surprised how much they actually added to handling, and they give the car better look too! Nobody knows that you have sways, but nothing looks better than a lowered car!

I don't have any suspension mods yet. I was worried about lowering because it seems that the front end is low enough with the spoilers on the bottom of the front bumper. I have already scratched up the bottom of those a couple of times just driving around town. It would be nice to go around corners faster, considering the sluggish turning ability, compared to my 95 Del sol.

But if I did lower it, I wouldn't slam it, like some of the civics around town, front end bobbing up and down. The Eibach prokit looks good, but I am not sure if I want to take a chance with my front end...

Our "strut braces" don't actually connect to the struts, just the body. I can bend mine with little pressure. I don't really think our stock one is that great. I just got some BOMNZ 45mm front strut for $20 off of eBay. It's only $20 I don't think you can go wrong with that. They also sell the rear struts for like $14.99. I think that if both of these are put on you'd probably be able to tell a slight difference...

Do you guys know if a rear lower strut bar will help much? I'm kinda itching to get one, but don't know if it will help at all.
