Spring Question

SO mine is a 2.3cl with 210,000 miles on it...my question is

(1) Will the OEM springs become softer as the yrs/miles go higher??? I mean will they lose its original stifness???

(2) if YES then where can I get some nice custoem tuned springs...any web site....I mean I don't want to drop it but probably get some springs that are a little bit stiffer than the OEM ones were....

Thankx
JFL

Custom tuned springs? You mean coilovers? If you don't want to drop it, just buy new cl or accord springs. or the Eibach Sportlines. Those should be stiffer. I noticed that my springs or shocks are pretty soft now. I think it's the shocks tho. It will give me a GREAT excuse to drop the car.

just get aftermarket springs witha slight drop. and some new shocks. there are several applications for moderate drops. just avoid the Prokit.

So just get new OEM springs from a CL or accord. Or a slight drop with Sportlines. Were talking barely and inch drop. The Prokit will give you a "boating" effect which could lower the back but not front.

sportlines will drop your car at least 1.75 inches, thats not a slight drop. The prokit would be more of what he is looking for, a little stiffer springs with an almost unnoticable drop.

Get eibach prokit it's a mild drop, ninja doesn't know wtf he's talking about. Sportlines are a good drop, prokit is mild and slightly stiffer than stock springs

you want a crisp ride without a suspension upgrade? not gonna happen. honda/acuras need to be lowered and have adjustable shocks for any sort of improvement in handling.

you have 2 options IMO
1) Take the majority of this forum's advice and slam your car a good 1.5-2", with some AGX or Koni Shocks
2)Accept the fact that it will handle like shit until you do #1
3) Buy another car, like a BMW...those handle very good stock.

lowering honda's center of gravity with good sway bars will improve the handling

Edited!

By the way, the roll/lift is because of that ride hight. That is kinda the purpose of a drop. To eliminate that stuff.

If you look at the noob guide, it will tell u that the neuspeed sport springs will lower your car a good 2 inches. I know you're not trying to lower your car like that because of the roads around you, so stick with the Prokit springs, and get some sway bars and your car will handle a little bit better. Not sportscar better, but better than stock. That price is pretty good, i'd say get them, install them, and call it a day.

Neuspeeds are a pretty significant drop, unless you really wanna drop your car, I'd go with the prokit, like we said it's just a little stiffer than stock which seems to be what you're looking for. Also get some Suspension Techniques F&R sway bars

not necessarily true. roll and lift is remedied by sway/tie bars and upgraded shocks. the bars hold the suspension together while the shocks limit the dip by being harder to compress. a drop alone will suffice for most people but upgrading sways/tie bars will take your ride to a higher level of cornering performance.

they're adjustable dampers rights? this is probably your problem, set it to a stiff setting.

Javed, these shouldn't need a camber kit due to the mild drop. You will want to get an alignment after you install them though

I'm not going to say I know a thing about those aftermarket springs mentioned, but I can say that any spring in any car, truck, pogo-stick or clicky-pen will sag over time. It's a matter of metal fatigue, and after 210K there's no way it'll compare to a new spring.

I agree 100%....and that is reason why I posted the question as I could feel the mushyness I mean the car ride perfect but you know it that it is mushy if you are as anul as I am....specially during high speed sweep truns..........but I got the correct info here and the encouragement to buy the springs...wish I could have done this when I replaced the struts would have saved a hell lot of labor time......sucks ......

but now it would be a breeze as the rear lower strut bolt is brand new and will not require the amount time I spend initially......OR WOULD IT????

later...
