Snow is horrible
And whats even worse is my tires. I slid like mad. It's the first time I drove in the snow too. And it wasnt even that much. PennDot needs to get on them roads quick. There was a crash right outside of my plan so I was trying to get around them and the hill was complete ice so my tires were just sliding and some jagoff behind me drives around me. I was like
. And yeah, so I have no idea what the point of that story was. But for the guys in the snow what gear are you usually in if you have an Automatic?
I was in drive for the most part than downshifted to 2 or 3 when i was going down a hill.

I guess it's a lot different when you grow up driving in crazy snow...
ZEROCL, I usually don't have any problems in the snow, but when it's really slick and you need to go up a steap hill, try this.
1: Put your shifter into SS mode (So you can confirm what gear you are in "D" shifts automatically [obviously] so you have no control)
2: As soon as you start driving, shift up (go to third as soon as possible)
3: Try to keep it in the highest gear that goes with your speed (this will give you less torque which means less spining the tires)
Alhough, in a Manual tranny, your not always so lucky! I used to get stuck in my Integra all the time. My Prelude was stick also and I never got stuck with that thing! In my Integra, I got stuck in a dip (sunk-in storm drain) going around a corner (on a back road) because this truck decided to not stay on his side of the road. Needless to say, I had my car in 5th Gear at one point doing 110MPH (sitting still and spining the tires) trying to get out of it!!! HaHa... I was obviously doing that because I was pissed off...

Nobody around here had my tires in stock!

Try letting some air out of your tires (just a little) and another thing, narrow tires work better in the snow. They cut through it instead of riding on top of it...
