shock sensor
so i installed the shock sensor i got from willp99 and the install itself didn't give me much problem but after i installed it, i have a couple of questions
1. i lost the chirp when i lock the doors. the double chirp is still there when i unlock the car. anyone have this problem?
2. i don't think it's sensitive enough. I mounted it on top of the alarm head itself cuz that's basically the only place it can go w/ the wire lenght. where else should i mount it?
any help will be appreciated
thanks

i think its cause the sensor is ontop of the brain. the brain itself clicks (moves) when its armed and disarmed. so i think that when u arm it it moves and makes the sensor think the trunk is open and will not arm chirp. i lost my chirp too. ill move the sensor on mine elsewhere and see what happens. ill keep yall posted. i tirned my sensor up to about 3/4 and that seems to be about perfect.

oh, forgot to mention, it's all the way to the max already. and i just slipped it under the carpet and use double sided pads to stick it to the inside of the under body. it's some what better and i think i can live w/ that.
only thing bugging me right now is that i lost the chirp.
I tried wiring it both ways. w/ the blue wire hooked up to the light green and the light green and black and both works. just doesn't chirp when i arm the alarm.
help???

ur sensitivity is cause u got it on double sided foam tape, u need to put it somewhere solid. i put mine on the little shiny bracket of the alarm brain.(perfect fit) and i zip tied it down. if u do that it will be alot more sensitive.

i mounted it on the bracket w/ zip tie like you said and it's still not working as good as putting it under the carpet.
i also noticed that if i lock the car and lock it again after like 30 seconds later, the alarm will go off. and i don't think it's b/c of the motion of the door actuator, b/c when try to set it off by hitting, it's requires a much harder hit compare to the door actuator.
i'm basically done messing w/ it right now. cuz i'm sure my neighbors are getting annoyed. i think i'll put it back under the carpet again. it's just harder to reach in to set the sensitivity level.
anymore ideas?

I have the EXACT same problems as you...
I hooked it up like the instructions said in the package that I received from wilp99.
I lost my arm chirp, but my dis-arm one still lives....so I just disabled the chirp on the disarm so that it would look even.
I screwed the sensor on the carpet next to the brain...took a screw and jummed it in there on both sides of it. I have the knob like in the middle kinda....someone told me that it went off randomly so I might make it less sensitive.
The alarm also does go off on me if I push the lock button again after like a minute or so.
Sometimes, when I lock the door, the lights don't go on. I can hear the doors lock, but the corners don't light on then off like they used to, only unlock does.
I guess that's it...
ANYONE with a shock sensor:
Does yours have the same problem as ours? Or is it just the ones that we have from wilp99. Thanks
Dan

The whole brain clicking thing is the relays inside activating. Your sensors seem to be sensative enough to pick that up and triggers the alarm. When you hit the lock button again, it triggers he relays again.
I think most other people have mounted them either at the bottom of the B-pillar or over on the passenger side kick panel. You just need to get it further away from the brain and onto a solid metal body surface. Our seats aren't quite mounted right to the floor. You need to get it to where you see real body metal. That way it will go off easier with body hit and not at all with this other.

Ever since I had the remote starter installed, I've not used my OEM remote. I've been using the Viper remote. There are NO chirps (either single or double) when using the Viper remote.
Sooooo . . . I just went out and tried the stock remote.
I have both the single and double chirp when locking and unlocking the doors.
I have the DEI (Viper) shock sensor which was taken from a brand new Viper alarm system. My Uncle owns his own shop, so he took the sensor out of a Viper Alarm box from the shelf, and put the one that we've all been buying into the box (I pity the one who buys it)!
I have my sensor mounted here (using the same bolt that holds the alarm brain to the floor):

i know its an old topic but, has any one come up with a reason why the sensors are doing this. i cant really mess with mine since its getting a new quarterpanel installed. i am sorry that everyone lost thier chirp. it annoys me too. ill try to wire it to a new triger and i will keep everyone posted on what i come up with.
