Changer install

I am pretty sure Dust can answer this. I bought a changer on Ebay for my CL. Is a 97 CL pre-wired for a changer, and if so, where is the plug in the trunk?

Thanks

It's NOT pre-wired.

You need the 15-18 ft M-Bus cable which plugs into the rear of the stock headunit and the CD changer.

You can find them on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=39748

I never measured it, but I think it might.

I put my Alpine (6 load) in the glovebox, but I needed to mod the box a little. Easy install though.

Just curious, where does the factory mount the changer? On the L or R side? Vertically or horizontally? Etc.

The factory doesn't install the changer.

The only way to get the changer is to purchase it at the dealer and have them install it (or do it yourself).

I've never seen the install instructions to know where they recommend (if they do at all) mounting it.

I had mine here:

I C. The trunk didn't look like it had a good place for the factory to install it. When I bought the car (a long ass time ago), I didn't see a single CL with one installed. I asked the salesmen where they put it in and he told me they put it on the side. But I thought that looked too cheesy for a factory install.
