heh.. oh yeah-- you've have to figure out/find your own instruction or find the trunk trip wire to figure out how to install it on the 2nd gens :P

Thanks cor for that info on the DEI shock sensor. Only if I had looked at it earlier!!!! I purchased one and it isn't sensitive at all. Have to slam one of the doors for it to go off. It'll probably only go off if someone crashes into my car. Piece of Sh*t!!!

Moforose3.0 The only picture related to that install fron NovawhiteTypeS is the last one on the pinouts for the First Gen. The box is under the passenger seat and you're gonna have to splice it from there. It was kinda a pain since there's not much headroom to work with. I suggest if you splice them just get the quick splice connectors that come in a box of 24 from an auto parts store like autozone or something. And if you're planning on mounting the shock sensor like on the driver side under the dash get ready for pulling out the bottom back seat to run wires under the carpet!!!

Anyhow, hope that sensor is alot better than the DEI. Hey tell me how it goes and if it works well. If it does I'll probably get another one and toss the DEI.

Thanks,
James

i just tried installing it...i used that pinout picture but it didn't work

in fact...the picture is pretty much backwards of what i found..like all the color of the wires are reversed

should i go by what the picture says or try to figure out the right positions?

cuz i THINK i got all of them spliced correctly, but the alarm won't work it doesn't seem to be powered =(

and instead of a green wire i have a white one (on the shock sensor itself) Do i just leave that one hanging?

I have a 97 3.0 CL thx

Yeah the pinouts are backwards however, just go with the color codes. Also, from what I noticed it takes about a minute after you arm the alarm for it to go off. I actually sat in the car and timed it with the shock sensor in my hand. The light on mine goes off indicating that there was an impact but no alarm until after a minute.

I hope this helps,
James

Acura3.0CL: DEI is just the company that makes the Sensor I bought. I got mine from autotoys.com. The sensor I have is just not sensitive enough or even at all. However, that Crimestopper one might be good but in my personal opinion and from what I think, the ones that have the microprocessor to avoid false alarms will most likely be the ones that are less sensitive to impacts.

rEmixnZZa: From what you're saying it definitely sounds like one of the power (-) or (+) got mixed up. Or something went wrong with splicing. With power the led should blink on impact and from that impact it sends the trigger message to the unit under the passenger seat that triggers the siren. So definitely a power problem. I don't have that exact Shock sensor but could you tell me how many wires it has and what are their colors?

ohhh ok thanks...so wait...which one is the better one to buy?

I wish i knew what kind my friend has. His is good and bad though. His is soo sensitive that if you walk by it (not even touching his car) it beeps once to warn you.) The bad thing is he said it will go off for no reason, like at 3am inside the garage. . . . i donno, if rather be safer than sorry. Id rather have a alarm that went off if someone scratched the car (like keying it) rather than one that only goes off if something flys though the window.

Hey, you guys that ordered the CS-97G from eFunctional, what kind of connector cable did you get?

Mine just came in: the shock sensor has a 5-pin connector and the supplied cable is a non-compatible 3-wire 3-pin connector. No wiring diagram included. So I have no idea which pin does what.

Okay, crisis partially averted. I found the pinout diagram on Crimestopper's site. At least now I can just solder the connections.
