shaking when im braking
hey guys, recently when i need to slow down from high speeds like taking an exit off a highway my entire car starts shaking when i start to apply the brakes especially the sterring wheel. My buddy says that the brakes are warped my other friend says the rotor is warped? What do u guys think? also how much is this gonna cost me especially with christmas coming up...
i'm goin to go with rotors as well.... my friend is having the same problem but he's gonna resurface the front rotors and change the front pads. that should fix the problem. I'm hooking him up with the fronts for about 80 for everything cause my cuzin owns a shop. But we had called around and your looking at about 120-180 for new pads and resurfacing the fronts.
Resurfaceing will not fix warped rotors. You will need to replace. I also hear that heating up of rotors does not cause them to warp, its the cooling down which warps them. I agree w/ HOBO, you will need to replace your brake pads.

brakes do not become wrapped, its the rotor itself, this is a first sign you need to have your rotors replaced or "turned"
turning rotors involves a lathe machine and they take off layer upon layer of metal on the rotors to make it even. if you are below the possible lathe depth you will need to replace the rotors
pads should be replace when you turn or replace rotors

exactly !! most of the time when rotors get warped its because u droped in a puddle of water or they got sparied with cold water after a drive .. they're hot already and the instant cooling warpes them .. but the big question is i bought my self a nice set of crossed drilled and slotted rotors and they got warped after exactly a MONTH !!! i thought the idea of those rotors is that they ventalate and keep cool so they dont get warped that easy ? isnt that the idea ????!!
