Security System Fuse keeps blowing...

I have a small problem. Whenever I lock the car via the remote the Security Door Lock Fuse (Under the hood #38 15amp) blows. It only happens when I use the remote and not when I lock the car with the key or bye the power door lock switch. I'm runing out of 15 amp fuses!

Has this happened to anyone else, and does anyone have any ideas what is causing this?

Thanks guys!

Thats strange. The remote uses power to work the locks, whereas I believe its purely mechanical with the key. You might want to try a 20 amp fuse, which could theoretically damage your electrical system, but in the past I have seen using 1 step up work fine.

when you unloclk the car with the key it is purely mechanical, however when you lock the drivers side with the key it uses the PDL to lock both doors. I tired the 20amp fuse to "smoke test" it however that fuse itself blew, but only when I hit the unlock button twice. I am thinking I might need a new alarm brain. sigh

it could be a stuck relay in the brain. try to flick the brain with ur finger. or a screwdriver. if that doesent work id shoot wires with a ohmeter. to make sure the brain is inop.

thanks for the advice guys but after some elimination I found the culprit. A while back (wow almost a year) i did some of the blue led replacements for the car, and theone that I place for the ashtray light was shorting out (wire touching...bad) this was causing the fuse for the parking lights to go out which in turn was causing the security fuse to go when I would arm the car. So long story short, make sure you don't have bare wire touching.
