removing head unit

Anyone have instructions on removing the head unit on a 98 2.3 CL. I don't care about the wiring, just removing it without damaging the wood grain Thanx

takin out the factory deck or aftermarket....
well if u gonna take out the factory deck u have to remove ur consul. there's some screw under the cup holder and some under the consul under the cd or tape hold in there. u have to take the stick shift knob off and the boot too so u can take the whole thing out. give u more space to work. once you get that off then the piece around the deck has to be removed. couple of screw to take that off. from there theres a bracket behind the deck... that's bout it i think. i usually just get my installers to do it for me but i've messed w/it a few times. now if its an aftermarket deck then all u gotta do is use keys or look for some release tabs depending on the stereo and just pull it right out.
