Reading light question 97 compared to 98-99...

Reading light question 97 compared to 98-99...
I heard the 98-99 have garage door openers....is this possible to put into the 97? Is there any place that sells these units? Opening the middle compartment to open the garage is a hassle

If it makes you feel any better, I know how to program/work it - and it still doesn't work! 
It won't program my side of the garage. It works on the others, just not mine. I'll have to get up there and change the freqency when I get some time.

its prolly the same way as a regular garage door opener? just go up to your opener and press the little red button(assuming its a newer craftsman i know it works on) and then have some1 press the button in your car u want to program it into.. that should do it??it all depends on your opener ...some arent compatable..

it wont open my garage but it turns on my porch light
