Quick stereo question

My BOSE headunit died and I'm dying to put in a new cd player. Will this work?

Best Buy will put in a deck for me for free, but wants an additional 18.50 for a wiring harness and another 18.50 for a mounting kit and 50 for the bypass. What do you guys think?

Finally, I can go buy some Infiniti Kappas for 70 in the front, 90 in the rear, from a local Ultimate Electronics that's going out of business (all sales final though).

What do you guys think would be the best thing to do??

Well if your system died you have no choice but to replace it. The amount Best Buy gave you seems correct.

I'm wondering if I should just use the factory bose system, but just put in a new deck. Do think this:

would work?

It all depends on what sound you want. I never keep a factory stereo, that usually is my first mod when I buy a car. That all looks fine but if you are not a big sound guy I say do that.

I'll probably go check out the speakers today. Can I still use the factory wiring for the speakers, or should I just gut the whole thing and put in new wiring with the new speakers/headunit?

Also, with a new headunit being the only thing powering the new speakers, will it still sound better than the old BOSE system?

It will sound way better than the old system. I would suggest upgrading the wires also for better sound and monster cable if you going to be running an amp

Sweet deal. The only thing holding me back is that while Ultimate Electronics has those Infiniti Kappas cheap, its all sales final-which is a really huge turnoff.

Let best buy do it, if u don't know how to do it or u want it done right. That way, if somethin f's up they'll fix it. Get the service warranty too

u dont have to bypass the bose amp... just get the kit. and hook the blue power antenna/remote wire to the blue wire on the harness. and the bose amp will work.. many people have done it. best buy dont know jack bout acura's they tried to pull the same crap w/me. im pretty sure only bose that is individually amped have to be bypassed. (meanind each speaker has its own amp).
