Problem with my CL

Hi ppl,

I'm new to this forum and I FINALLY bought my CL (1997 used one). Though I bought it at a good price, I do find a problem with the car.

Whenever I try to stop hard, the car tend to skid to the right. I think something is wrong with the front right wheel.
I bought the extended warranty and will bring it into acura for service but would like to get a rough idea of what the problem is.

Thanks alot.

Welcome!

Well if it is slipping, then I think it might be either that the brakes are fading, or there is dust on the rotor and it is making the brakes slip. Either way take it in since you have warranty.

Have you guys checked the alignment lately?

Dust on the rotor goes away as soon as you step on the brakes.

Dont forget about tire pressure. I know lower series profiles are worse but that could lead to the car veering one way.

it could be warping of the rotors... messed up pads, low break pressure.... or low tire pressure... get it checked by the dealer and let us now!!!

BTW... Welcome!!

Welcome to the club. I would say warped rotors also. I think mine are warped as well. Could that be from heaving braking or the constant car washes that I go through? I just think that replacing rotors at 45000 miles is high....

Hi ppl,

Finally got my CL checked by the dealer, they said the problem is due to tire pressure as they said that the car already has new set of brake installed.
Also, they told me there were something about a factory recall on the car about some value and they did that for me free. Any one know what's that about?
