Power difference between stock 2.x and H22A?
Power difference between stock 2.x and H22A?
hi ppl,
whats the power difference between the stock 2.x CL engines and the H22a (Prelude?) engine?
also, what's the approximate cost for a swap? including labor and the engine itself?
after swap, anything to look out for in terms of incompatibility issues?
thanx

stock F22 145hp
Stock F23 150hp
both of those engines are single overhead cam.
Stock H22 200hp and it is Dual Overhead Cam
do a search on the price.. but i think its somewhere around 3000 with the swap and labor. also a prelude tranny is included as the CL one cant handle all that power without clutch mods and all that good stuff. there should not be any reliabilty issues with the engine since it is a honda and i'm sure you can get one that has decent mileage.
to date there is no H22 in a CL. we almost had one, but the owner decided to drift the car into a tree.
last i heard there is one in progress.

There is probrably at leats 4 people on here with the swap and the accord engine bay is the same as the cl and 100's of kids did the swap on an accord. Don't worry the swap is golden and also its not always the hp bro.....TORQUE IS A BIG PLAYER!
Do the swap!!!!!! You'll enjoy your life!
the rear engine mount might be different but that wouldn't be a problem...and the engine compartment on the cl is bigger that the accord. (I haven't checked a 2 door one so Im not sure if the 2door accord is the same as the 4door engine compartment)
