Paint the Grill?
My grill's color has faded and is now some form of blue color. Its really blatant in the sun. Is there any suggestions for paint to use on it or what i should do?
Thanks,
Ryan

So would Krylon Flat Black work? or would it chip too easily?
Thanks!

It's been painted for approx. 8 months I would say... I sanded as much as I could but you'll realize when you try that you can't really sand off the chrome,.. just scuff it good enough and then clean it really well with rubbing alcohol,.. be sure to use plastic primer. I had painted my grill two times before and I had just used regular primer and it peeled off in a matter of days...

Not sure if I made this clear or not, but im just painting the vertical parts of my grill. Like the part thats already black, turned a bluish color. I'm not tring to get rid of the chrome around my grill. I have a '98 so its a one piece grill, with no chrome strip across it. So all I want to do is paint what was once black, black again. So could I sand the actual grill. Than clean with rubbing alcohol, than Krylon Plastic Primer, than the Krylon Flat black?
Thanks

you seriously don't need to sand/prime/paint it, just take it out, put 3 even coats on it and wait for it to dry... (wait in between coats :duh: )
mine's held up fine, no chips...

Yes I do I also have 4 cans of krylon and 2 cans of duplikote 1200 deg ceramic
I went out and got some body color paint (metallic black, matched my paint well) and some clearcoat. sanded with 200 then 600 grit, cleaned it well, 3 coats of color, 2-3 coats of clear. sand with 600, then 2000, then rubbing compound. looks good, looks like the rest of the car, no chips so far (probably 6 months). good luck.
