Oil Problems...Need Help

I'm a new guy around here and I need some help. I DID my research before posting so i don't want anyone to think that i'm just posting shit,

Ok so my oil drain plug is leaking. So i went to Discount Auto Parts and bought another one and replaced it. The problem lies here, when i go to tighten it, it tightens up to a certain point and then it gets loose again. Now someone on here said the same thing when i searched but no one responded to his problem as to what it was? I'm thinking i have to buy a new Oil pan.

As far as the car goes i'm not the type of person to buy one mod at a time and put it on. I'd rather buy everything little by little and put it on in one shot. I actually just got the car back about a week ago and i had it repainted. I also got my 18" OZ wheels in. I'm waiting on a couple of other pieces and then i will post pics when i'm done. Promise you guys won't be dissappointed. Thanks for any help on the oil pan.........

you are either going to need to buy a new oil pan or re thread that one to a different bolt.

You probably (or someone else) over tightened the drain pan bolt and it stripped. Best way to do it would be to get another oil pan. Or cheapest way is to re-thread it. Dont try and use any epoxy or silicone or JB Weld because it wont work.

Other than that good luck..!

your oil drain pan plug threads are stripped some one over tightened the plug and stripped them...go to some auto store they have some quick fix stuff for this ...if that does not help my best bet is changing the oil pan...there are some available on eBay...that gives you a reason also to change the gasket.....

search on the web too they have some stuff that helps in such scenario...i hope this helps...and BTW this is a very common occurrence in most of cars when noobs try to change the oil without understanding the over tightening part...

Thank You guys for the help,
To moreryce. i'm not concered with trying to go the cheap way, I just want it done the right way. if that means buying a new oil pan then that's what i'm going to go cause being cheap most of the time only gets you so far.

To JFKHAN: I know how to change the oil it's just that this has never happened to me, this is the first oil change that i do to this car since i recently bought it, so i'm assuming that the person that owned it before me tightened it too much.

Replace the pan, a pan saver would only take you so far, I'd just replace the pan, and make sure they use honda gasket sealer when they put the new one on

like 97 said. There is no gasket for the pan. Got to Honda and get the liquid gasket from them.

I must say you guys know what your talking about.......for anyone that cares, i bought a brand new oil pan with the honda lube, plug and they installated it all for $230.00 . Came out really nice. Like blackack said it is a sealer that i had to use not a gasket. Well thank you guys for the help i really appreciate it. I will be posting pictures of the car when the drop is complete and wheels are on, hopefully about another 2-3 weeks. Thanks again.
