My check engine light is on
I have a '98 2.3CL with about 110,000 miles, and the CHECK ENGINE light came on last week in the morning, while driving about 60 mph. The car runs completely fine, and I checked my gas cap and everything, so it can't be that. I took my car to an Acura dealership over the weekend, and they said it runs about $100 just to check why the light is on. I was also told that because my car is lowered, I might have damaged the O2 sensor. Could my aftermarket intake have anything to do with this? Is there anyway I can handle this without having to pay a grip of money to take my car to the dealer? Please reply if you have any suggestions. Thanks...
o2 might be covered under the emmsions control warrenty. check it out, i got mine replaced and it was covered under the extended warrenty i think either one you can check it youself here the link to neidjeb way to check it yourself with only using a paperclip...

That is really cool... (The paperclip thing)
Sorry to hear about the check engine light... sometimes there is a little groove near your maintenance required light, and if you stick your key in there it could reset your check engine light... it comes on sometimes if your maintenance required light goes to red - an unlikely possibility, but worth a try...
You could always buy your own Scan Tool for $400 or so

mrateb: you have a scan tool? where did you get yours and how much did you pay for it? i want one so i dont hvae to jumper it, i mean neidjeb's jumper thing works but i like to see it exact on a tool meant to check it
if the car runs fine its most likely the o2 sensor in your exhaust in ur cat but the intake has nothing to do with it because there is no mass air flow sensor in the intake just an absolute pressure sensor in the intake manifold one more thing don't go through acura they will rape u go to a mechanic u trust

I've got a ,97 2.2 with 114,000. My light came on last week also. I reset the comp, and it went off. If you do this, make sure you have your cd player code. It's an arm and a leg to find out.
bye the way, it's back on. as of yesterday.
not happy.
