Did your ignition get replaced with the recall? That could be it because the in the recall description it says that the faulty ignition switch would cause your car to shut off while driving. Check with the dealer about that. That should be replaced for free

It wouldn't be just the battery. It would be the alternator and then you may have to get a new battery if you can't recharge your existing one.
If you haven't had the ignition recall done, it's a 90% chance that's the problem.

hmm.. check to make sure that the pos. and neg. are tightly clamped onto the battery.
also check to see if you still have your alternator belt. i know it's a "duh" kinda thing..... but im throwing other options out.

If the battery is 3 years old this is your best bet. Most cars today will not run on the alternator alone. A trip to a gas station that does mechanic work will be able to check the battery in about 5 min. and tell you if this is the problem. If you have to, disconnect the battery and take it to the gas station.

Why don't you upgrade your alternator? Sounds like he wanted to sell you a battery too. The battery is only needed when the alternator cannot handle the load (when the car is running of course). Unless you like to sit around bumpin in accessory mode. Thus the only time to upgrade a battery is when you need small power gains such as 10 amperes or less. BTW a rebuilt alternator should last nearly or just as long as a new alternator.
