What motor oil do you guys use? I currently have Penzoil Synthetic but I was thinking of switching to Mobile 1 or Royal Purple. Is there anything bad that can happen to the engine if I switch motor oils?

Personally I use Castrol Syntec, but I think any full synthetic will give you great protection. There are rumors all over the place about the wisdom of switching oils. Again, my personal opinion is that it's hogwash. Switch away!

The same one that's best for all cars: Mobil 1, of course. Use the 5-30 weight.

i use mobil one. since my first oil change. i like it alot. both my car and truck engines run more snoothly after the switch. not to say other synthetics wont have same reslut. ijust like mobil one

You guys that are using the blended synthetics should just make your own blend of half synth and half dino. IIRC, the blend in the preblended mixtures aren't 50/50. I use regular Mobil 5w30 (or 10w30 in the summer) in the CL & Mobil 1 in the WRX (to avoid oil coking to the turbo).

I use Walmart brand motor oil. It comes in a nice looking carton and has an EZ pour spout. Also I use FRAM oil filters. They are the best because they have the special black grip. And I wait til about 6000 miles between oil changes because the Walmart stuff is so luby.














Only Mobile 1 and Honda filters or ACDelco Gold filters.

Castrol Syntec here!!! I use the 10w30. It works well. No problems and runs very smoothly!!!
