Exclamation Making Custom 98/99 Grill

I bought some mesh hoping to make a nice looking grill out of it and ran into some problems. I know some people have done this to there 99' grills, and yes I searched and cant find anything helpful. I want to keep the chrome boarder and cut almost everything out and put the mesh behind it. My grill looks like crap for now b/c ive cut out the lines, so I need to know how to get the mesh to stay on the back. If anyone has seen it I want it to look somewhat like d98clturbo's.

i actually wanted to do something similar to this on my 97 cl... I saw it on a second gen @a meet not too long ago down here and I thought it was tight.

Funny thing - what he did was that he bought a trash can from office depot, cut it open and took out the round bottom. Then he streched it and cut out the grille... voila!

What kind of problems would I run into if I tried doing more or less this for my grille? would anyone w/a 97 cl care to share?

pls thx.

- Cut mesh out to match grill, but cut a little bigger than chrome border.
- Roll the edge of the mesh to line up with the inner edge of the chrome border.
- Sandwich the mesh between the emblem and the plastic grill.

heres some pics:

Hope this helps.

Yellow high beams PIAA 194 and yellow turn signals. The sheet of mesh was 2.5'x4.5' from an automotive accessory store.

Yeah true but it still saves me from cutting my fingers and kicking my car because I f'd something up and countless trips to the auto parts store because I cut the mesh wrong.

$295 is not that bad, and it's a whole housing ready to drop in, 15 min installation time and you keep the stock grille in tact.
