Lost another window regulator today.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUK!!!

That's 2 @ about $300 a piece. Service guy tried to tell me that it isn't a chronic problem with these cars and also that internet message boards tend to blow things way out of proportion. That made me feel all better.

Out of proportion? I've had both of mine replaced too. I took that seal out that's to the rear of the windows. I think thats what strains the motors. They fly up and down now.

Unfortunatly, when the seals are removed and the windows are down, you can see some screws. I don't care what they look like. Especially if I don't have to have another motor changed out. I don't have my windows down too much anyway.

by removing that seal does it leak in the rain and cause extra wind noise?

If friction is the problem is there a way for us to "lube them up" as suggested by SooDARK?

Hey Dennis - who did you buy your new regulators from?

Thanks for the offer. I just got mine back from the dealer... $270 - some odd dollars later. I tried doing it myself the first time around and it just ain't worth it for me.

Its because of the damn seal that he talked about taking off. It puts too much resistance against the glass and causes the motor to overheat and die.

Regardless, should be a recall and they should fix that shit for free. Its not like its a rare occurance for a window reg to go out...but if it can't cause harm to anybody they can't lose money by not doing a recall... :pfawk: capitalism!
