Kyb Agx Problem

This week my front drivers side strut decided to jar the bolt loose and fall down into the wheel well a little. Not a fun problem, but I fixed it and I have been having a squeeking problem for about a month now with it. Every bump I hit the thing seems to squeek or creak. Anyone else have this problem or have any idea what it is. I took them all off the stifist setting and put them on soft and that didnt solve the squeeking but I can get to work with out spilling my coffee now. How do I get rid of this damn squeek.

I have this annoying squeek on every bump as well... Mine is coming from the bumper cover near the wheel well- can hear it when i shake it. I'm not sure what you're hearing but my squeek annoys the hell out of me. Just a thought, it's prob. a diff. problem...

Gonna have to fix mine on saturday... Can't be pimpin with a mouse in the front end.

I was thinking of sending the strut back to the company but then I will have 1 stock 3 agx which wouldnt work or I would have to switch them all again which would really be a pain so mabey I will wait a few more weeks and see if it goes away. This weekend Ill take it off and put it back on hopefully that will fix it. Any other suggestions keep posting them.

I talked to several technicians at KYB and they said about 80% of the time, the squeeking noise is from the bushing. They tend to dry out and make these noises over bumps, when turning etc. Thus, we should spray WD-40 on the lower bushings where the bolt goes through the A at the bottom of the strut mount...and also on the upper bushing. If this doesn't fix it, they recommend putting some grease on the strut b/c sometimes things get inside the strut tube.

If that doesn't work, send the strut back- but they will make you pay for it if they test it and find out it wasn't the strut that was squeeking.

I have the same problem and it is so annoying. It is getting louder too- I think it's the bushing. They get moved and removed when the new struts are put in, so I think they don't sit like they used to in the OEM set-up.

I've had the same problem. Called KYB and they told me the same thing. I had everything greased and still get the squeaks occasionally. I will either be changing the bushings next or switching to the Tien's.

Mine's been squeaking like crazy too. It's downright embarassing driving thru parking lots now. I'm pretty sure it's the bushings, but I haven't had time to take it in. I sprayed some silicone lube on the bushings but it didn't really help for very long. Besides, the lube gets washed out by the rain. I was gonna replace the stock bushings w/ polyurethane bushings, but I've been told they squeak real bad too. What a pain. By the way, I don't have KYB struts - I've got Koni's.

Use a heavyer grease than WD40. It will not last. You may need to remove the bushings and give them a good greasing. Grease the part the bushing rubs on also.

Had my upper rubber spring mounts lubed after that, no squeaking at all.
