Introducing Myself

Hey guys my name is Chris.. I am new to the Cl-forums. I used to have a 1995 240sx with an sr20det and many other mods.. I had a little over 13k into my 240 and was running high 12's. I will post pics of it if any one wants to see, but pretty much to make a long story short i was on i90 and a pickup trunk came into my lane into the front of my car, and ran me off the road..... Well the shoulder was underconstruction, my car hit a light pole, then hit a dirt hill and flipped over back onto 90. Well after my near death experience i decided to get something a little nicer(why i bought the cl)... I bought a white premium 2.3 98 cl. Its a really nice car, and its mint inside and out. So far my mods include
6200k Hid's
Mb quart q's in the front (Speakers are AMAZING)
Mn quart reference 6x9 in the back
Phoenix gold tantrium 400.4 interior amp
Alpine cd player
Valet lcd pager/alarm/remote start

My temporary sub is a jl12w3 running off a pionerr amp. This is holding me off till i come up with the 2 grand to finish off my trunk. I will be getting 2 image dynamics id max 12's, and a phoenix gold tantrum 1400 watt amp. And it will all be profesioanlly installed. At this point i will probably be getting an indash dvd/lcd of some sort.

My other plans for the car are get the back bumper repainted(only part of the car that is flawed, paint is spidered a little in one spot), Air ride suspension will be done soon. I will be installing a fbss system. I have never installed air ride before but have installed coilovers and springs before...(cant be that hard) So i am still reaserching which air ride system to get. Once it warms up i will be getting RSR exhuast, along with a set of 18's just unsure of which wheels to get. To finish it off i will probably get the wings west front lip, and my windows tinted black.... It wont be fast but will look really nice, and untill i am done with school thats all i need.

***If anyone wants to run any group buys, or needs any parts please let me know, i will see what prices i can get to help out the community. One of my good friends owns a shop. Right now he has a special on hid's if anyone is interested. If we get 5 people or more to order them the cost will be 370 shipped per kit.

Well now that i have bored all you guys to death here is a link to my post on the nissan infinity car club bored the night that my accident happened. If anyone has any questions please feel free to hit me up on AIM, or email, and i am looking forward to learning alot about my cl here. Thanks guys, Chris

Please.. I am in no way a ricer. I had 2 stickers on my 240, one was a shop that always helps me out, and the other was my buddies shop. I will try to get some pics of the cl up, along with some pics of my 240. I will take big pics and host them to a web server or something.. You all seem very friendly. Thanks alot, Chris

A good reason for buying the cl is it wouldn't be easy to make it fast... The hardest part was going from manual to auto.. I know i can get the car in manual but i kinda like being able to eat/talk/ do what ever while i drive. Not that i didn't do it while driving stick its just easer... And man the car has CUP HOLDERS, ive never had those before ... For the time being i still have my 91 5 speed integra which is kinda sporty i guess.... doesn't compare to my 240. It is very hard going from rwd to fwd, but in chicago the fwd will be nice the next couple of monthes, and i do miss the turbo.... I do have big plans for the cl, but more making it look real nice then making it fast... I will be building another fast car as soon as i finish my last 2 years of college. Depends what kinda money i got but right now my plans are for one of these 3 cars..
r32 skyline
s15 silvia
z33 (350z) twin turbo setup, i can import both of the jdm cars for cheap but would be hard or next to impossible to legalize them, so i will prolly end up buying a 350z in the next two years. If any of you guys have any questions mechanically i know a decent amount about cars. Me and my friends have done many motor swap from h22 preludes, to a b16 civic, a b18 civic, and several sr20det's.... The best part about buying the acura is i know i wont have mechanical problems with it. My integra has 201000 miles on it, and i have replaced ball joints, axels, alternator, battery and clutch.... Thats pretty good for 200,000 miles i think. Thanks, Chris

well i am actually aware that the 3.0 has a bad trans..... One of my good friends was a honda mechanic and he says they go out all the time on the 3.0 accords, and 3.0 cl's....... this is a good reason why i went with the 2.3 over the 3.0 cause my main concern with this car actually was reliability... Thanks though, Chris
